Blogmas Day 14 - Winter Skincare Routine!

Hi Guys and welcome to Blogmas Day 14!

It is really important to look after your skin, particularly in winter. So how do I care for my skin during the colder months?

I start by taking all my make-up off as soon as I get home from work, to give my skin as much time to breathe as possible. I usually use the Clearasil make-up wipes, but as I have ran out of those I am currently just using the Superdrug own brand. I am not really fussy with make-up wipes, as long as they do the job.

When I get in the shower, I wash my face using the Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser with my face brush from Primark. I mostly have quite an oily skin type, but when the weather starts to get colder I do have some dry patches. The face brush has an exfoliating side, which is great for getting rid of dry areas, and leaves your skin feeling nice and smooth again.

Most of my skincare routine comes after I have had my shower. I start by cleansing my face with the Clearasil Ultra 5in1 Cleansing Pads. These are great for winter, because not only do they clean your skin and unclog your pores, they are also textured. Again, this helps to exfoliate your skin. I allow this to dry and I then go in with the Clearasil 5in1 Treatment Lotion. I apply a generous amount of this all over my face to treat any blemishes, and to help prevent future breakouts.

I then use my trusty Germolene on any blemishes and finish off with an oil free moisturiser. I don't tend to use a moisturiser during the warmer months, because I double up the use of the Clearasil Treatment Lotion as a moisturiser. But, in winter, my skin is that little bit dryer and needs some extra TLC! The one that I like to use is the Neutrogena Visibly Clear Oil-Free Moisturiser. Neutrogena is another great brand for oily, acne prone skin, and it keeps my skin hydrated in the cold weather.

And that's it for my winter skincare routine! I use the same routine morning and night, and if I'm having a bad skin day I will occasionally use a face mask. The one I am using at the moment is the Quick Fix Facials Anti-Blemish Mud Mask. I hope you have enjoyed finding out how I look after my skin throughout winter. What's your go to product when the temperature drops? Head over to my social media, which will be linked below as always, so that you never miss a new post.

Catch you tomorrow for Day 15!
