Blogmas Day 24 - My First Blogmas!

Hi Guys and welcome to Blogmas Day 24!

I can't believe it's Christmas Day tomorrow. I have really enjoyed my first Blogmas, so much so that I started planning it in August! I thought, as it was my first time doing this, that it would be a good idea to end with a summary of how I got on and what I am going to do differently next year.

A lot of hard work goes into Blogmas; getting enough pictures together, thinking of ideas and then actually finding the time to write. So if you are thinking of starting a Blog or of doing Blogmas next year, just make sure that you allow yourself plenty of time.

I also don't think that I am going to be doing Blogmas in the same way next year. There are a number of different ways to do Blogmas, and I went full out with a post every single day since the 1st of December. Next year, I think I will either upload a post every other day or start a bit later into the month, maybe in the last 2 weeks before Christmas. As much as I have enjoyed Blogmas, I did find it quite stressful to get so many posts ready, and I feel like some of them maybe weren't the best quality. It is also very difficult to get so many pictures and make them interesting. On average, I tend to include 5-6 pictures per Blog post, times that by 24 and thats 120-144 pictures! That is a lot in such a small amount of time.

Plan, plan, plan. Having a plan will make Blogmas much, much easier. My plan was to get all of my Blogmas posts drafted by the 30th of November and then sense check them the night before upload. With regards to the pictures, I took as many Christmassy photos as I could before December began so that I had enough to make a start. Then, throughout December, I took my camera everywhere with me to grab any photo opportunity that I could.

For me, the highlights of Blogmas have been:

Blogmas is definitely very challenging and really does test you. I have always loved a challenge. The feeling you get when you have accomplished something after pushing yourself is so rewarding, and Blogmas was just that. There were times that I felt I was going to give up and not bother about Blogmas, but I pushed on and I am now so glad that I did. Blogmas is an opportunity for your Blog that you just do not want to miss.

Love and Support

So many Bloggers take part in Blogmas, and it is so nice to be able to support and share each others content. Obviously it is nice to do this all year round, but I feel like Blogmas has a whole different feel to it. Somehow it connects everyones Blogs together, big or small. It's almost as though that split between huge and famous Blogs, and those that are just starting out in the Blogging world, just disappears. Seeing so much love and everyone sharing their Blogmas posts on social media makes me feel super festive.

The biggest highlight of Blogmas has got to be the enjoyment factor. I have absolutely loved creating every single one of my Blogmas posts and I feel so much more festive this year than I have ever done.

If you have done Blogmas this year, whether this is your 1st or 10th, I would love some Christmas Eve reading to get in the festive spirit. Send me the links to you Blogs on Twitter or Instagram, or leave them in the comments. I am going to take some time away from Blogging over Christmas and New Year to focus on family, so I will catch you all in the new year for a brand new post. I guess the only thing left to say is...
