Valentines Day!

Hi Guys and welcome to another Blog post!

Now if you thought that this was going to be a loved up, romantic post about Valentines Day, then I'm sorry to disappoint. For me, Valentines Day is the worst day of the year and I'll tell you why.

Well the obvious one is, I'm single. So Valentines Day is just a big, soppy, no no from me. I hate walking into every shop and being faced with heart shaped boxes of chocolates, balloons and flowers. I just want to get my lunch!

I also feel like this day has just become an opportunity to mess around and joke for some. Every year I hear at least one group of people in a store saying, "I dare you to send him/her a card for a laugh." It's not so funny for the person on the receiving end who may actually think someone likes them. Have you ever thought about that?

When I was at school, we used to have a secret rose service. You would buy a rose for £1 and you could send it to whoever you wanted, either with your name or anonymously. These would then be given out during a lesson, in front of everyone. I always hated it when Valentines Day came around at school. It was so disheartening to see people receiving a rose and you never got one. Sad, I know!

I just find that it's such a pointless day. Why is there a specific day laid out for romance? Yes, it's lovely to show your other half  that you love and appreciate them, but shouldn't you be doing that every day? You don't need gifts and cards to prove that. I'm sorry to anyone who is in a relationship and loves Valentines Day. You go out for that meal and enjoy your partner's company, but it's just not for me.

What are your opinions on February the 14th? It is always just a normal day on the calendar for me. Head over to my social media, which will be linked below as always, so that you never miss a new post.

Catch you next time!
